KleinHacks is a student-led hackathon that aims to inspire the next generation of innovators from around the Klein ISD area. High school students, business partners, and community members collaborate on projects with applications in technology and a variety of other fields. Hosted at Klein High School on March 21-22, 2020, students will be immersed in a 24-hour innovation challenge. The event is completely free to all students.

All current Klein ISD high school students can attend our event.

KleinHacks is 100% free. From food, to snacks, to shirts, to prizes! You can thank our amazing sponsors!!

Please bring your Klein ISD Student ID, along with anything that will help you in your project or would make your stay more comfortable.

We recommend for you to bring at least a computer (preferably not a school laptop), a light jacket to keep comfortable, and a sleeping bag if you are planning to stay overnight. We are not able to provide Surface Go’s this year.

Don’t bring anything you are not allowed to take on an airplane. This includes soldering irons.

No! We understand that not all people want to stay overnight, so you are welcome to come and go as you wish. However, doors lock at 9 PM. At this point, no one will be allowed to enter or leave the event. Doors will reopen at 6 AM on Sunday.

Our challenges won’t be announced until the day of the event!

A team can do as many challenges as they want. Winning one challenge does not exclude them from winning other challenges.

There are two types of prizes:

Sponsored Challenges

The prizes and amount of winning teams for sponsored challenges is up to the discretion of the sponsor.

General Track

There will be three winning teams in the general track. They will have the choice of one of the three Grand Prizes, subject to availability. 1st place will pick first, followed by 2nd, and then 3rd place.

Nope! KleinHacks is a good place to learn how to code, but we will have challenges that require no coding at all! As long as you have a passion for creating, the resources we provide you along with the mentors available will get you on the right path.

Teams consist of a maximum of four participants. Prizes are awarded to every member of the team individually.

You don’t need to have a team, but having friends makes it more fun! There will be a team formation event at KleinHacks for those who don’t have one.

We will be releasing the schedule once we get closer to the event. Keep an eye on our website and social media pages!

Yes! We will be providing lunch and dinner on Saturday as well as breakfast on Sunday. There will also be snacks available throughout the event.
